Extension Agent Scholarships to Expo in Pinehurst (9/12/14)

— Written By Barclay Poling

Informed and involved extension agents can make a real difference in helping strawberry growers be successful. The NC Strawberry Association has again budgeted $2,000 towards extension scholarships for this year’s Strawberry expo in Pinehurst, Nov. 17-19. As in past years, the scholarship will cover registration fees and accommodations (two to a room) for up to two nights. Mileage and other expenses (e.g. meals that are not part of the tour or expo) are not covered. While some priority will be given to NC agents, those from other states are encouraged to apply. The deadline is Friday, Sept. 26 (two weeks from today).

Here is the application form: Scholarship Travel Application ver 2

NCSA members are encouraged to invite their agents to apply, to nominate agents for the scholarship, or to support this program by offering a ride to the expo or donating additional funds so that more agents can benefit.
