Subject: North Carolina Live Webcast from National Conference on Cover Crops and Soil Health and Local Forums – Feb 18 (4 locations)

The Natural Resource Conservation Service and our local partners invite you to attend a free, live webcast from the National Conference on Cover Crops and Soil Health and discuss cover crops and building soil health and how these two things may improve yields, curb erosion, manage pests, and build resilience in your farming system.

On February 18, four locations in North Carolina will host local forums where farmers, conservationists, researchers, and ag professionals will have the opportunity to learn from one another while exploring local and national perspectives on cover crops and soil health.

For more information about the North Carolina Forums, visit http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/PA_NRCSConsumption/download?cid=stelprdb1243849.pdf

Facilitated discussions on local issues pertaining to cover crops will follow the live-streamed webcast of opening sessions from the national conference, including a dialogue with Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack (invited) and Howard G. Buffett, plus a panel discussion with expert farmers.

Attendees of the local forums will also have the opportunity to contribute ideas and comments on cover crops and soil health back to the leadership group at the national conference.

Please share this information with other farmers, conservation partners, coworkers, clients, etc.! The event is FREE, but we ask that all who plan to attend RSVP (see flyer for details), so we can be sure to have enough space at each location.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
